Going into the story, we find that Earth is not alone in the universe when it comes to living, intelligent inhabitants roaming its land. There are countless other species, some far less advanced and many far more advanced with intentions ranging from gracious to the terrifying. Only the interstellar sanctions and restrictions set by unimaginable beings just short of godhood has kept the Earth safe as little more than an observatory, primitive location.

Among the precious few humans who are aware of the extra-terrestrial existence is a man called Mr. Hadean. He has spent an impossible amount of time involving himself in the system and using it to gain power for himself and his influential supporters - at the risk of endangering the Earth itself.
